House Rugby Tournament

Yesterday saw a closely fought and exciting inter-house rugby tournament.
Each house had a squad of 9 players - playing 7-a-side matches.

Mills won all 3 of their matches.
Hitcham were 2nd with 2 wins
Howard and Bulstrode drew with each other.

DINNER MONEY COST FOR SPRING 2nd HALF TERM
PRICE £2.30          Dinner money should be paid on Mondays
Half term payments are due by the first Monday after each half term.
The cost for lunch every day will be = £57.50   23 February – 27 March = 25 days      
          Don’t forget you can pay for the whole term for 1/ 2/ 3 or 4 days per week too.
To pay on-line follow the link from the ‘Parent Information’  button on the school website.
Weekly:    5 days £11.50 / 4 days £9.20  / 3 days £6.90 / 2 days £4.60 / 1 day £2.30
Cheques should be made payable to Suffolk County Council (SCC) with your child’s name and class WRITTEN ON THE BACK please.
DINNER MONEY MUST  BE HANDED TO THE TEACHER IN AN ENVELOPE THAT STATES:       Child’s Name + Child’s Class + Which days dinner money is for.
***DEADLINE FOR HALF-TERM PAYMENT IS MONDAY 2 MARCH***
This is only a 5 week term, so early prompt payment of dinner money is requested please.

RED NOSES FOR SALE
We have Red Noses for sale in aid of Comic Relief, from office for £1.  
The children should bring them back on Red Nose Day, Friday 13 March.

FRIENDS CAKE STALL
The Friends would like to thank all those from RV & PLDD who did so well baking for the last cake stall, they raised  £97.

REMINDER: World Thinking Day for Rainbows, Brownies and Guides
Those children that are part of Scouting or Guiding may, if they wish, come to school in their Rainbow, Brownie, Guide, Beaver, Cub, Scout uniform this Friday, 27 February (as this is the closest Friday to Thinking Day). This is not a fundraising activity so no money is involved, just a nice thing to do!

REMINDER: CHANGE TO GYM & MULTI-SPORTS CLUBS on 6 & 10 March
Due to the Book Fair in the hall, the Gym Club on Friday 6 March WILL NOT TAKE PLACE, however to make up the 1 hour session, the other 4 sessions : 27 Feb, 13, 20 & 27 March will all run until 4.30pm (15 minutes longer).  The Multi-sports club on Monday 10 March will take place outside, so the children will need to bring suitable outdoor sports kit, including trainers.

MUSIC SURVEY FOR PLDD– PLEASE RETURN ASAP!
Please return your completed survey to the office by THIS WEDNESDAY – so far we have not had a large enough response to be able to determine what parents feel about these class music lessons – your feedback is essential in helping us make decisions for the future.

WORLD BOOK DAY – THURSDAY 5 MARCH
Don’t forget that for World Book Day next Thursday, we would like all children to come to school dressed as their favourite book character.
We are also raising funds for Book Aid International (www.bookaid.org) which is a charity that take mobile libraries to developing countries and refugee camps.  A donation of £1 is suggested.

With this letter please find a School Lunch Survey for parents to complete, the Governors would welcome your response to this by Monday 2 March, please.

Mayan and Aztec Work in classes ES and JA

Classes ES and JA's home learning project has focused on the Mayans, Aztecs and Native Americans.
The response has been fantastic and Mrs Ambrose and Seaward would like to thank the children and their families for their creativity and hard work.
The artefacts that have been created are on show in the classrooms and look amazing.
