COLLECTING FROM CLUBS AFTER SCHOOL
Following a couple of near misses in the staff car park we are afraid that for safety reasons parents will now not be allowed to drive up to the staff car park to collect children from clubs.  With little room for manoeuvre in the car park plus children and parents not keeping to the path we feel this is the only safe solution, we understand it will be inconvenient for some, but we must put the safety of the children first.
Please be aware from next week the gate will be closed and parents will need to park in the Elms car park when collecting from clubs.

PARKING CONCERNS CONTINUE
For the safety of all pedestrians (both children and parents) on their way to school PLEASE can parents who drive find a safe place to park.  DO NOT park on double yellow lines or across pavements, which cause increased dangers to people trying to walk past you.  Thank you for your continued support in this.

WATERPROOF COATS – NO UMBRELLAS
Please can we remind parents that at this time of year the children must have a coat with them (preferably waterproof).  We do not like children to have umbrellas in school as they can be hazardous.  The children will not be able to use them in the playground at break or lunch, so will need a coat.

SPORTS AWARD
We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in achieving the Sainsbury’s School Games – Silver Award for 2013/2014.  Well done to all the staff who run extra-curricular sports clubs and events which enabled us to achieve this.

Ebola Virus - Advice for Parents

Parents/guardians should not be unduly worried about the possibility of their children catching the Ebola Virus. Key points given from the Public Health England:
The risk of Ebola arriving in the UK is low and to date there have been no cases of Ebola Virus Disease being contracted in the UK.
  • Any person arriving in the UK having travelled from any Ebola affected countries will be screened. If they are free of symptoms they are not infectious so there should be no restrictions on their school attendance or normal activities.
  • It is not possible to catch Ebola from a person who is not showing signs of being infected. It can only be caught by direct contact with the blood or body fluids of a person who is ill with the disease.
  • There is no reason why your children should not continue to attend school or their early years setting as normal.

Further information on the Government's response to the Ebola virus can be found on GOV.UK.
