Cricket Team Narrowly Miss Out on Place at National Finals

Our school cricket team took part (on Monday) in the Suffolk Cricket Finals.
They won 4 out of 5 matches vs St Loius Middle (Newmarket), Nayland, Holbrook and Polars (Ipswich).
The crucial game was against Beyton Middle (Bury) - we lost by 5 runs in a game which we could easily have won. Beyton go though to the National Finals.
It was still a fine performance from our team. Sometimes you need a bit of luck in close matches.

Julian and Ethan played superbly throughout the tournament.
Julian took a hat trick in one match : 3 wickets in 3 balls.
Ethan hit 5 sixes in an over. He was only stopped from going for the perfect 6 sixes by a wide delivery from the bowler. Both were rare and amazing achievements.
Huge praise must also go to the rest of the team including Georgie Cantrell - one of only 2 girls playing in the boys tournament and more than holding her own.
A huge thanks to Mr Cantrell for all his support, grass cutting and coaching throughout the season.
