School Morning Routine

During the Ofsted inspection the issues with congestion in corridors, classrooms, stairs and doorways were noted.   We would like to remind parents of the following routines for the children and parents at the start of school.

Our expectations are that:

Arriving between 8.30 – 8.40am
If you arrive at this time, your child may take their belongings into school (and coat if it is warm enough to not need it on the playground), but your child should come straight out onto the playground to be ready for the first bell.

Unless parents need to speak to the teacher, please can parents wait on the playground while your child puts their things away.  We do not expect parents to be putting away their children’s things, as a part of you helping to develop their independence they should do this themselves.

Pushchairs /Buggies should NOT be brought into school during this time.

Arriving between 8.40 – 8.45am
If you arrive at this time, your child should keep all their belongings with them and go straight to the playground to await the first bell.  They can put their things away once their line has walked back into school.  This prevents blockages in doors/corridors as late pupils come out and clash with class lines coming in.

At 8.45am when the first bell goes the children should line up in class lines to then follow their teacher into school.

All children should be outside by 8.45am ready for this bell.

Parents are expected to either vacate the playground before the 8.45am bell, or allow the children safe entry to the school before you try to leave by standing back from the class lines, steps or doorways, please.

Parents do not need to stay with their child after 8.30am, as the playground is supervised from this time.

We hope that these expectations are clear, if you have any concerns please speak to the class teacher in the first instance.
