CHARITY DAY – Friday 3 May
As mentioned in the Diary Dates leaflet this will be a day where the School Council have chosen to raise money for the RSPCA.
The children are asked to bring in a £1 donation or tins of cat/dog food for the charity.
Children can dress up as an animal, or they can wear stripes, spots or animal prints.  Foundation and KS1 children can also bring in a soft animal toy.
There will be activities and games and art activities in classes too.
We will invite the EADT in to take photos of this event during break time.

CROSSING SAFETY ON COLLEGE ROAD
Sadly, there have been a couple of danger concerns on College Road this week where there is CURRENTLY NO CROSSING PATROL.
We have noticed that there have been children left unescorted to cross the road (as young as KS1), who do not have the skills or ability to cross safely – in fact we witnessed a child literally run across the road without looking in either direction.  PLEASE can we emphasise that until SCC have secured a new Crossing Patrol that an adult should safely see their child across this road.
If you, or any family members, are driving past this crossing point can we also ask that you are considerate in slowing and being aware of pedestrians crossing un-aided here.  Thank you for your help in keeping the children safe.

MAYPOLE CANCELLED ON THURSDAY THIS WEEK
Mrs Pascoe apologises that she has to cancel Maypole this week; she has just become a grandma (for the first time) and will be off to see her new grandson.

NUTS FOUND IN SCHOOL
The kitchen have alerted us that when they are clearing the food rubbish from the hall that they are finding nuts from packed lunch waste.  We believe they may come from pupils who have pre-packed salads, who are picking out the nuts and throwing them away. However, parents should not be giving pupils ANY NUTS in their lunches as we have children who are severely allergic and these can be life threatening.
Please be vigilant in ensuring you DO NOT give your child Nuts for their lunch / snack.

RECEPTION ‘COME & PLAY SESSIONS’
We would like to remind parents of children in Reception that the classes have some ‘come & play sessions’ soon – Class CH on Thursday 2 May and class KM on Weds 8 May – both sessions run from 2 – 3pm in the classrooms.

CLASS DB ASSEMBLY - Cancelled
Apologies for not removing this from the Diary Dates leaflet, but as previously advised class DB will not be doing an assembly due to the many other Year 6 activities in the last half term.

SEASIDE SPECIAL LUNCH – change to date
This lunch was planned for 11 June, but as it clashes with the KS1 Summer Outing it has now been changed to Monday 10 June.
