Newsletter 40

Welcome back to everyone for an extremely busy last half term of this school year! We hope you enjoy everything we have planned.

SWIMMING – VOLUNTEER HELPERS STILL NEEDED
Please check with your child’s class teacher if they need additional adult helpers so that they can swim. The following classes NEED MORE OFFERS: LC KT CH KM PLDD & JC.
The pool cover repair has been delayed, but we hope to start swimming towards the end of the week (weather dependant!). Don’t forget your child’s swimming kit.

CAMP MEETING – TUESDAY 12 JUNE
Year 6 parents are invited to the camp meeting on TUESDAY at 6pm in the hall

CLASS PHOTOS – WEDNESDAY 13 JUNE
Please can we remind all pupils to bring their school sweatshirt in with them on Wednesday for the class photos. Year 6 pupils will also have individual photos taken.

KEY STAGE 1 SUMMER TRIP – THURSDAY 14 JUNE
Reminder for all KS1 children to bring their packed lunch and other essentials for the trip on Thursday to Felixstowe. Don’t forget sun hats if hot, and to put on suncream on at home.

NURSERY SUMMER TRIP – FRIDAY 15 JUNE
Reminder for all Nursery children that the trip to Easton Farm Park is on Friday. Please see Mrs Stephenson if you have any queries about the arrangements.

REMINDER - CHANGES TO HALF-TERMLY DINNER PAYMENT PROCEDURES
THE OFFICE WILL NO LONGER BE SENDING OUT INDIVIDUAL PRE-PAY FORMS; it will be parents’ responsibility to pay the due amount by the deadline.
DINNER MONEY (whether paid weekly or half-termly) SHOULD BE PAID ON A MONDAY.
WE REQUIRE ALL HALF-TERMLY PAYMENTS TO BE MADE BY THE FIRST MONDAY FOLLOWING THE START OF EACH HALF TERM.
DINNER MONEY COSTS FOR SUMMER 2nd HALF TERM (11 June – 20 July):
There are 6 full weeks in this term (30 days). However, Nursery to Year 5 will be 29 days due to summer outings, and Year 6 will be 24 days due to Camp and a day at High School.

Costs for Nursery up to Year 5:
5 days a week 29 days x £2.10 = £60.90
4 days a week 24 days x £2.10 = £50.40
3 days a week 18 days x £2.10 = £37.80
2 days a week 12 days x £2.10 = £25.20
1 day a week 6 days x £2.10 = £12.60
Costs for Year 6:
5 days a week 24 days x £2.10 = £50.40
4 days a week 20 days x £2.10 = £42.00
3 days a week 15 days x £2.10 = £31.50
2 days a week 10 days x £2.10 = £21.00
1 day a week 5 days x £2.10 = £10.50

Cheques should be made payable to Suffolk County Council (SCC) with your child’s name and class WRITTEN ON THE BACK please. ALL DINNER MONEY SHOULD BE HANDED IN AN ENVELOPE THAT STATES: Child’s Name + Child’s Class + Which days dinner money is for

NEW TEACHING ASSISTANT
We are pleased to welcome a new teaching assistant to Reception; Miss Lamb will be joining Mrs Mawson’s class and I am sure the children and parents will give her a warm welcome.

STAFF CHANGES IN NURSERY FROM SEPTEMBER
Mrs Stephenson, our Nursery Teacher, is moving on to teach Reception in another school in September, we are sure parents would like to join us in wishing her well and to thank her for all her hard work in the Nursery. I am delighted to announce that Mrs Eyles, who has been in the Nursery for 10 years will be taking over the running of the Nursery in September.

CATHEDRAL ART EXHIBITION
The cathedral art that the Year 5's in class EM worked on last half term will be on display as part of the R.E.S.P.E.C.T. 2012 Exhibition. This is being held at St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St Edmund's from Saturday 16th - Thursday 21st June.
Viewing times are; Saturday 9-5pm, Sunday 1pm – 3pm, Monday – Thursday 9.30am - 5pm

CHILDREN BEING COLLECTED BY DIFFERENT ADULT
As long as parents have given a note to the class teacher about a change to their child’s going home arrangements, there is no need to also call the office.

GREENER FRAM – GARDEN WORKING PARTY – SUNDAY 17 JUNE
Do go along to the community garden in Pigs Meadow (above the New Road Allotments) on Sunday for a Garden Working Party and Big Lunch picnic at 11am-1pm. Please bring picnic food to share. For more information visit http://www.greenerfram.org.uk/

CAKE STALL SUCCESS
The Friends would like to thank al the children and parents who baked for the cake stall on the last day of term, they are delighted that the cake sale raised £131.

FRIENDS NON-UNIFORM DONATION DAY – THIS FRIDAY - 15 June
The children may wear their own clothes on Friday 15 June for a donation of items to the Jubilee Fete. The Friends would like donations of the following items please:
• For the ‘Cream Teas’: plain/fruit scones suitable for freezing (ie not previously frozen).
• For the Bottle Tombola's: Wines, Spirits, Beers, & Non-Alcoholic bottles
• Chocolates for a Chocolate tombola; also items for a Children’s Tombola.
• Items for the White Elephant stall (NO broken or damaged goods, please)
• Promises to bake cakes for the Cake Stall

*** THE FRIENDS HAVE HAD NO OFFERS OF HELP ***
FOR THE JUBILEE FETE ON FRIDAY 22 JUNE.
THEY CANNOT RUN THE FETE WITH OUT A LOT OF HELP… please see the yellow slip sent with this letter about adding your name to the chart on the Friends Notice-board by the hall.
IF NOT ENOUGH VOLUNTEERS COME FORWARD THEN THE
NON- UNIFORM DAY AND THE FETE WILL BE CANCELLED
